The Temple of the Sacred Tooth in Kandy is peaceful and filled with incense and monk chants. Sri Lanka has many old temples and cave paintings that tell ancient stories. You can walk around the old ruins in Anuradhapura, climb the rock fortress at Sigiriya, and join evening prayer ceremonies with flickering oil lamps. These traditions go back over 2,000 years.
